Dear CHUM Colleagues – we are excited to begin another year of collegiality,

Wednesday, January  27, 2016
1:30 – 3:00  (Note new time for this date)

Formed following the mass shooting of first graders and staff in Newtown,
Colorado Faith Communities United to End Gun Violence  (CFCU), a multi-faith
coalition, has now grown to 27 congregations, including members in Boulder and
Summit County. Motivated by the belief  that "While we continue to pray for the
families and friends of those who have perished, we must also support our prayers
with action.”  CFCU is dedicated to just one thing—working to reduce gun deaths
and injuries in Colorado through advocacy, action and awareness strategies which
include the legislative process and tackling gun violence as a public heath
epidemic.  CFCU Executive Committee members Jerry Arca (First Plymouth
UCC) and Alana Smart (B'nai Havurah)  will join us on Wednesday, Jan. 27 to
provide more background on what CFCU has been doing; plans for 2016; and
how your congregation can become part of this all-volunteer effort

PLEASE RSVP by January 25th  to Diana Flahive 303-832-4188  [email protected]
If you would like to invite 1-2 people from your  community, please do.

As a community of the people of God, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is called to
minister to all people in our world, knowing that the world is often an unloving
place. Our world is a place of alienation and brokenness. Christ calls us to
reconciliation, love, and wholeness. We acknowledge that this acceptance in
Christ extends to all. We are people of different races, genders, sexual
orientations, and from different economic backgrounds united in Christ. We are
challenged by the Gospel to be agents of healing within our society. We welcome
you to be part of this community.
